Frequently-Asked Questions

Location of Violins:

1. Can I visit some of your instruments in Tokyo?

Tabor Satou Violins is primarily an on-line store. Therefore, we have low overhead and can offer our instruments to you at lower prices than typical music stores. All of our instruments in Tokyo are part of the private collection of Mr. Satou, and can be visited by prior appointment. Japanese-speaking customers in Japan can contact Kaishu Satou directly by email:
satouinstrumenten@myway.com

Ordering:

2. How do I place an order with your company?

You may either place the order through our secure, online automated order system or send an email to: natetabor@yahoo.com

Payment:

3. What types of payment do you accept?

You may pay by check, money order, or wire transfers. For instruments in higher price ranges, we cannot accept credit card payment. Residents of the European Union may pay by Standard E.U. bank transfers. Customers in the USA and Canada may send personal check or money orders.

Shipping:

4. How soon will I receive my instrument?

Payment made by check or money order must clear the bank before we ship an instrument. We then ship within 10-15 business days. For instruments in lower price ranges, we are happy to ship via DHL or other shipping companies that a customer might prefer. For higher-priced instruments, we highly recommend a courier service or an appointment to visit our private collection of instruments in Milan, Italy.

Appraisals of Instruments:

5. Will I receive a certificate?

We provide free verbal appraisals of instruments and welcome all inquires toward commission sales. Selected instruments come with certification. Please contact us for details

Insurance on shipments:

6. Do I need to purchase insurance?

We highly recommend purchasing insurance on all shipments, and can advise the customer in this regard. Needs can vary according to the particular instrument purchased. We sometimes share the cost for full insurance through a private firm, as the insurance services provided by shipping firms can be troublesome or inadequate for expensive instruments.
We are very honored to be able to meet and serve so many people from all over the world. We hope you find an instrument that suits your needs. Please check back with us for new additions that we will be making periodically.

We are looking forward to serving you,
Nate Tabor and Kaishu Satou
